During the last few years following the expansion of our oil related activities in Romania , Kazakhstan and Sudan we have been in the position to adept ourselves in order to achieve the following goals:
1.International procurement
Our procurement department has been extended in order to perform international procurement based on selective criteria established together with the design companies that we have worked with.
Personnel training(English language + training on “what” and ”how” to order)
2.Coordination with the designing companies
In order to be able to ensure a smooth process of manufacturing as well as to diminish errors and lack of solid information we have developed our own design/engineering team to act as an interface with the designing companies that we work with either as contractor or sub-contractor. This decision was taken after a long experience in working with different design companies and as a consequence of understanding the whole process from design to commissioning.
3.Rapid and flexible manufacturing process
Because of the fact that turn key projects require products from different manufacturing workshops of our company we have developed a centralized computerized system able to control the manufacturing stages in order to allow accurate instant data as well as predictions of the deliveries. An important feature of our company is that the mobilization time is very short and can offer fast results.
4.Improvement of our quality/control management system
Due to the international projects that we are involved in a lot of efforts have been concentrated on continues updating of our Q/C system:
- receiving API certification for drilling/production tools as well as for sucker rod pumps spare parts
-receiving GOST and Gost R certifications for drilling/production tools
-we are audited at this point for receiving ASME certification
-DIN 18 800 certification with SLW Munchen for steel structures and stainless steel
-various welders certifications as well as welding procedures certifications in order to be able to manufacture pressure vessels with CE Mark(PED)
In addition to the certification processes requirements , in order to provide our Q/C department with a more accurate tool we have developed to laboratories
1.determining the physical-chemical properties of metals
2.welding
These 2 laboratories operate in close relationship with the Q/C department for checking the materials that are being procured as well as performing the tests and checkings required by the Quality Inspection Plans related to different products
-Confind has a good cooperation with Lloyd’s and Bureau Veritas as third party inspection companies.
5.Improvement of our transportation capabilities
Due to the fact that some of our clients include transports as our tasks we have developed our internal transportation capabilities for domestic market as well as a network of reliable transporting companies projects outside of Romania.(last year we have shipped from Confind and transported to Kazakhstan 2,600t of equipments and to Iraq 1,200 t )
6.Improvement of our on site erection capabilities
As a consequence of the am projects we have established a system able to provide with erection teams in a continues flow. The teams are built as autonomous as possible and include welders, steel workers, electricians, mechanics managed by a Team Manager(eng) able to make decisions on site in a continues feed back with or Coordination Team
7.Coordination of the overall activities in order to complete turn key projects
The most important achievement of the last years is the Coordination Team that includes various specialized personnel such as:
-process engineers
-mechanical engineers
-construction engineers
-electric engineers
-automation engineers
Their main goal is to provide the connection between
-Designer and Confind(spotting the errors, inaccurate data and performing the corrections with the design company)
-various Confind’s compartments
-erection teams and Confind
-design company and erection site
The Coordination Team decides the course of action , the priorities and has full authority upon the on going project.
In order to accomplish the am Confind has passed through different stages of development :
1.Manufacturer of equipments
Until 2003 following the procedure at that time , Confind acted as a supplier of Petromservice for all the modernized “parks” of SNP Petrom(more than 100 parks) in respect with the following equipments:
-separating skids
-test skids
-gas metering/adjusting skids
-water skids
-manifolds
-heat exchangers
-progressive cavity pumps
-various metal structure sheds
as well as supplier of equipments for Tasbulat gathering and treatment facility.
2. Manufacturer of equipments and erecting on site
Part of the above mentioned
Gas compressing facility at Berca(9 compressor Confind type) as subcontractor for Petromservice
Gathering and complex treatment of gas and condensate facility on Tolkan/Borankol oilfields in Kazakhstan as major supplier for Petromservice.:

The facility includes some unique equipments(manufactured for the first time in Romania) such as :
-slug catcher - equipment for liquid pig extraction
-reboiler - equipment for condensate stabilization
In the process of performing as subcontractor of Tractebel various skids for gas fractioning on Tolkan/Borankol oilfields in Kazakhstan
3.General supplier
-Turn key job for the Extension of the gathering and complex treatment of gas and condensate facility on Tolkan/Borankol oilfields in Kazakhstan
-In the process of performing turn key project for Increasing of treatment capacity of the above mentioned facility.
-In the process of performing turn key project for Loading/Unloading LPG Ramps on Tolkan/Borankol oilfields in Kazakhstan
-Gas compressing facility at Tintea(4 compressor Confind type) as subcontractor for Petrom

1.Slug catcher (slug extraction installation)
In 2002 Confind has manufactured and erected upon site(Kazakhstan) 2 slug extraction facilities.
It was installed at the end of a bi-phase transport pipe(3 millions cubic meters/daygas&1000tons/day condensate) working at 100 bar pressure.
It is an assembly of paralel pipes 500mm diameter with 3 main connections:inlet bi-phase fluid,outlet gas,outlet condensate.Pipes are mounted with a 2% slope.
Its purpose is to separate gas from condensate as well as to receive the condensate accumulated in the transport pipe that is pushed into the slug catcher by the “pig”.

2.Bi-phase separator for well production calibration skid
Its functional role is to receive the incoming production of a well in order to measure the quantity of crude oil and gas corresponding to that well.
