In 1998 CONFIND purchased the Rubber Parts Plant from PCC Sterom and continued the production of rubber items for oil/gas industry.
During 1998 Confind bought this rubber plant and began to improve the technology and working conditions as follows :
- new steam generator(Biasi Italy-3t/h,P=16bar) ensuring steam demand in closed circuit at needed parameters
- new shot blasting equipment(electrocorundum) Norblast used only for this section
- new dry air compressor(Ingersol Rand)
- total repairments of working spaces,offices,storage facilities,traveling cranes
- new electric distributor
- overhauling of steam and electric presses,mixers
- new locker rooms,showers
The present personnel (36 workers, 1 forman, 1 technology engineer, 1 supervisor, 2 chemical engineers) was selected from PCC-STEROM Campina personnel
through a very severe selection process. All personnel has a very wide experience in the field of rubber manufacturing and perfectly understand the technology and the
machines.
Things accomplished by this section :
- 50 rubber compoundings(certified and homologated by beneficiaries)
- section has about 5000 moulds
- new moulds are designed here and are produced in the mechanical processing section
- tests for rubber identification when the beneficiary has no technical specifications
- all tests imposed by technical requirements
- it is manufatured a very wide range of products( 1g-100 kg)
- rubber articles of : siliconic rubber, Viton, N.B.R., H.N.B.R., E.P.D.M., Natural
- personnel operates in a single shift with a production of 9-10 tons/month
- technical endowment : 5 mixers(rolls), 5 electric presses, 27 steam presses, 3 autoclaves
